Equality and Access

Equality Statement

Statham CP recognisesl that certain groups in society have historically been disadvantaged because of unlawful discrimination they have faced due to their race, sex, disability, gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, religion/belief, sexual orientation or age.

Through policy and practice we aim to eliminate prejudice, unlawful discrimination and victimisation within the school community and workforce.

The general equality duty says that schools must consciously consider (have due regard for) their need to:

  1. Eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and any other conduct that is prohibited by the Equality Act 2010.
  2. Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
  3. Foster good relations across all protected characteristics – between people who share a protected characteristic and people who do not share it.
